As we wait for season 6 of Mad Men to premiere next year, we can continue to enjoy many 1960s-inspired looks from Joe Fresh’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection.  Presented back in March just a week before the season 5 premiere, many of the women’s pieces, which range from swing coats to faux fur and more, just scream Megan Calvet Draper, the Quebecoise wife of Don Draper and the London mod scene of the mid 1960s.

The skinny pants paired with loose fitting tops, which are staples in many wardrobes are perfect for people who don’t want to see the bottoms of their pants get wet from the snow.  And, of course, there’s the signature Joe Fresh rainbow of colours, which for this season includes burnt oranges, greens, turquoises and reds.  For those who prefer something more preppy there are houndtooth patterns, private school junior division-inspired jumper/tunic dresses and pleated skirts (not in the video, but can be seen in their Fall/Winter 2012 look book or on this styleblog.ca post).  And if you don’t like colour (who doesn’t?), there is of course, the neutrals and basic blacks.

As for likes, there is a turquoise piece that is either a shift dress or pencil skirt seen at the back at 0:22 in on the video that would work well as a staple for work.  However, I’m not exactly a fan of how it was styled for the runway – the collar just looked to bulky and the model’s head partially disappears (and not to mention, a bit distracting)!  Another fave is a military-inspired pea coat (above, left) that would be amazing with jeans or wooly pants and boots.  Other than that, most of the looks are the typical simple, classic pieces that Joe Fresh pulls each season.  Comfy, affordable looks at its best.
