A Fashion Grad’s Online Resume

French fashion grad, Celine Caveillero created a unique resume, modelled after fashion magazines, to help her find a job in the fashion industry.  The site, which looks eerily like Vogue UK‘s website, has typical resume information such as education and work experience, as well as links to her fashion blog (in French) as well as her social media accounts. It’s very creative-looking and unique – something that might make her stand out next to the hundreds of other grads looking for jobs in the industry.  However, there are still some points to criticize.

First off, what looks like a link to another page, is, for the most part, unlinked text.  While yes, it’s supposed to be a resume, and they’re supposed to be as brief as possible, I question the style used.  A regular person who might not realize that it’s a resume at first (or even people who DO know) will think that there’s something more, especially with the arrow bullet points at the end.  I realize that she’s emulating the British Vogue site, but still, it can be a little misleading.

I do commend Celine for being taking the time to create the site.  It definitely DOES catch people’s attention – exactly why I’m talking about it here (I found out from a Tweet I got earlier). And in the world of fashion, where there are plenty of people with similar experience, being “different” and “eye-catching” is very important.
