Shopping for Good Causes at AIME’s #bloggerbazaarto

On Sunday, several of Toronto’s top bloggers, including  Backseat Stylers, The Souls of My Shoes and Style Blog participated in the #bloggerbazaarto at at the back of Monica Mei’s AIME boutique.  Items ranged from bags to clothing and shoes (and from budget-friendly brands like Joe Fresh to premium lines like Erdem and Christian Louboutin), all of with partial proceeds going to UNITY Charity and various other organizations.  Many of the pieces at the bazaar were fall/winter, so it was a great place to stock up for the upcoming season.

The event was fairly busy when I arrived around 1:30 PM, with people milling around looking at the various items.  It was outside, but the boutique was available for anyone who wanted to try on clothes.  Hair salon and spa, Civello was also present to do shoppers’ hair.  There were also a limited number of swag bags available, with items such as beauty products and gift cards.  One thing missing that could have been there were some snacks – nothing messy, of course, since you don’t want to get anything onto products.

So did I make any purchases?  Yes!  I actually didn’t think I was going to be able to find anything, since I’m a bit on the smaller side.  I didn’t find any shoes, of course, but did end up purchasing an Erdem skirt (may need to move the buttons over a bit.  The skirt technically fits, but I have a shorter waist (distance from the ribcage to the hips is small), so it kind of hits the bottom of my ribcage.  Moving the buttons would make it more comfortable.) and Theory wool trench from the Backseat Stylers and a vintage-looking purse from The Lost Sea.  The coat isn’t wearable yet, but I’ll probably take the bag and skirt out for a spin soon.
