Yesterday, Lux Spa in Toronto’s Yorkville district hosted a wonderful post-work event, featuring relationships author, Andrea Syrtash, who was in town to promote her book, He’s Just Not Your Type (and that’s a Good Thing). The evening, which featured some book signing as well as mini manicures and appetizers, was full of chit-chat not among the guests, but with Andrea herself while waiting to get their nails done or for their nails to dry. Many women mentioned their own relationship issues.
Andrea’s new book is about finding the right guy, even in places that you don’t necessarily think you would. Many women have the idea of the “perfect man” and look everywhere for guys who fall into that “ideal” category. Many don’t even bother to look or realize that there could be guys who don’t fit into that category who are their type. It’s very much like Sex and the City‘s Charlotte, who looked everywhere for the “ideal” only to realize that “ideal” who came in the form of Trey MacDougal only to divorce him and marry Harry Goldenblatt, who physically and culturally didn’t fit what she was originally looking for. You never know, your ideal tall, dark and handsome hottie with the perfect job in the financial industry or law might really be the shorty, geeky IT guy who works for the company two floors below yours.
