Ann Taylor Fall/Winter 2012 Preview

Ann Taylor, which will be opening its first Toronto (and Canadian) store later this year, held a fall preview recently at the historical Carlu at College Park.  With a theme of 1960s Parisian style with a pop of colour, Torontonians can expect lots of black, teals and magentas.  Style does not deviate very much from what’s considered “Ann,” – lots of office-appropriate pieces such as pencil skirts, slacks, sweaters and blouses – and the and the trend of printed pants continues with this collection (though much less colourful than what we’re currently seeing for summer).  Animal print is also seen in this collection.

Deep jewel tones, especially for shoes and accessories abound, with a favourite being the pointy captoe flats.  There is also very pretty charcoal grey coat with black and sapphire patterns as well as a burgundy coloured fedora.  Of course, there’s also the bling.  Lots of  bright colours to accompany both the darker and colourful pieces, bringing some pop to the cooler-weather collection.
