Ann Taylor Opening Two Stores in Toronto

This was announced Thursday, but it isn’t clear based on the articles whether this means that there are actually two Ann Taylor stores, or if one is LOFT.  If it is indeed two Ann Taylor stores, my guess is that one of them will be at Yorkdale (long rumoured) and another will either be on Bloor (unlikely) or Eaton Centre (more likely – it would probably take up some of the space that is currently home to Harry Rosen).   Of course, I could be completely wrong and they could be opening up at Shops at Don Mills or Sherway.  And I won’t be surprised if a factory store opens at the new outlet mall opening next year in Halton Hills.

Something I’m definitely hoping that these two new stores, whether one is a LOFT or if both are regular Ann stores, will carry are petite sizes.  Though their petite departments tend to be smaller compared to Banana Republic, at least it will give Canadians an additional option.  Right now, we’re pretty much limited to a small handful of stores and of course, alterations.  Oh, and I’m also hoping that the online stores will start delivering north of the border, too.

What are your thoughts on Ann Taylor opening in Toronto?
