Romantic, Delicious and Apple-Filled

Who would have thought a theme restaurant would do well in France?  But Pomze is no theme restaurant in the American sense.  In fact, it’s elegant and grown-up, just like many other eateries in Paris.  However,  one thing that makes it different is its focus on apples – most dishes have apples in them and not just in the desserts.  You can find soups, salads as well as mains made with apples, and often quite creatively.

The restaurant offers both meals a la carte and prix fixe.  Currently, they are offering two for dinner, with one being a special promotion (26 Euros).  This one not only includes three courses, but also a complimentary glass of apple cider (alcoholic).  Choices for this menu include a three apple and goat cheese salad as well as a french toast with apple sauce and ice cream for dessert.  For the regular prix fixe menu (30 Euros), a chilled apple, mint and pea soup; duck breast with a Royal Gala glaze and summer vegetables and a lamb stew with several different types of apples and apricots are among the choices.  The regular menu is also available at a reduced two-course meal for lunch at 25 Euros.  For those not interested in alcoholic beverages, highly recommended is one of their pure apple juices, which is made from a single apple!

The main dining room is located upstairs. With a nice, wood floor, the restaurant certainly makes a great place for a quiet, romanitc dinner.  In fact, restaurants like Pomze is what a proper French dinner is all about – good food, good wine and good conversation.  It’s one of those places where you can stay for hours and hours, just soaking up the atmosphere.  In addition to being a restaurant, Pomze is also a boutique, selling various apple-related products such as cakes, ciders, juices and preserves.
