What suggestions do you have for brides?

Hire a professional. Single false lashes and a voluminous Rimmel Mascara is a must! Carry your lipstick and blot/face powder in your bridal clutch for touchups and celebrate your love and building your life with your partner. Focus on the beauty of your relationship first… And lightly touch up your makeup, second.

For bridesmaids?

Listen to your bride. Ask how you can help and question her preferences.

Remind her of how beautiful she looks and how incredibly happy you are for her. Step back and remain low key. This isn’t your day.

Don’t request a makeup or hair look that’s too close to the brides. I also recommend staying away from wearing bright lipstick, especially if you’re the only one. Too much attention and focus will show with this trend in group photos.

Help your bride during photos. Adjust her dress fix an easy hairdo and let her know when she should powder her face. Remember to keep those ideas in mind. But not to act militant.

For getting the “right” look?

The right look… is your look.

Have a trial with a makeup artist and stay within your comfort zones. The last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable or awkward. It will show in your pictures; which of course last a lifetime.

If you’re not used to wearing makeup, relay this to the artist and try a lighter application.

If you’re well versed with makeup go with a look you prefer. Whether it be a bold lip or smokey eyes, or even something lighter than your every day. Do something that requires minimal touch-ups. The key to a wedding day is fun. Picture references help you as the bride to understand what you desire and it’s easiest to communicate with, for your artist.

Load up a Google search or post-it-note a few pages you find in bridal magazines with your desired bride look.
