This was a favourite of mine growing up. It’s quite easy and quick to make, not requiring much time or ingredients at all. In fact, you can probably make the sauce in less than an hour. Ingredients needed are:
- 1 pound of ground beef
- Marinara sauce
- Chopped onions (one to 1 1/2 cups)
- 1/2 cup of portabello mushrooms (optional)
- Minced Garlic
- Cooked rice
1. Heat up a shallow pot with oil and minced garlic
2. Once heated, add the onions. Cook until they’re partially dissolved
3. Add beef and cook until brown
4. Add 1 cup of portabello mushrooms (optional)
5. Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups of marinara sauce to the beef and cook for another three to five minutes
Serve over cooked rice.
Note: An alternative to the tomato sauce is to use two fresh tomatoes.
