Bloor Street Store Watch: MAC and Max Mara Moving

We finally know what’s going into the old Feet First location on Bloor Street  – nothing, really.  MAC Cosmetics, which is located next door, is poised to move next month, taking over the old shoe store.  According to a sales associate at MAC, it’ll give them a bit more room.  As to what will take over the current MAC location, the rumour is that Links of London will be moving in.  The store is smallish, so an accessories shop would be pretty ideal.

In other Yorkville-related news, Max Mara has temporarily left Bloor Street, opening up in the old TNT Man location over at Hazelton Lanes.  This will be its home for the next few months, until their new location (formerly home to NOIR) opens later this summer. Michael Kors will be moving into their old location.  The entire area is actually quite busy.  Hoarding has gone up at The Colonnade, so it looks like the bistro set to take over Dynasty’s old location will be opening up there very soon.  And as speculated months ago, Intermix will be taking over the old Lululemon store across the street, which has been sitting empty since September when they moved north to Cumberland.

What remains to be seen is what is to become of Marciano, which closed down in April.  Could it be the rumoured “big European brand” that Flare’s Lisa Tant Tweeted about back in March?  Unlikely, since a luxury brand, especially one from the Continent (if it was something British,  Lisa would have said British, not “European”) wouldn’t be housed between Guess? and a bank.  Perhaps it’ll be another shoe store (Stuart Weitzman?  Or will the second Toronto location open at Yorkdale?) or J.Crew.  We will just have to wait and see.
