Bridal Gift Guide 2015 Part 3: Bridechilla

DelectablyChic! is back with its highly anticipated Bridal Gift Guide Series by T. U. Dawood.  The series continues with Part III:  Bridechilla.

Instead of being a Bridezilla, be a Bridechilla on your special day, so here are suggestions to make you truly the Bride Hostess With the Mostess…

relaxed bride

Try to stay chill on your big day (I hope she looks chill enough.  Stock images tend to show typical posy type shots)

Suggestion #1:  Just breathe

If you find yourself finding it all overwhelming or not being able to cope when anything go wrong – as something inevitably with such a large event – take a deep breath before losing your temper or despairing. The key is that you are marrying the man you love, not that all the flowers are tilted in the same direction or the Best Man missed his flight.

Suggestion #2:  Have a MOJO Song

Yes, we at DelectablyChic! feel every bride should have a song to ground her. Whether it is Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine,” or whatever song is in your heart, pick one and hum it to keep you happy.

Suggestion #3:  Smile even when you don’t feel like it

Yes, even when you don’t feel like smiling, apparently just doing the action will help you feel better.  According to Scientific Research by the University of Cardiff in Wales, our faces communicate our states of mind not only to others but also to ourselves, that is “I smile, so I must be happy.”

Remember that most wedding problems are just jitters and go away so you don’t want to share with too many people your problems because that will just result in gossip that might go back to your Groom and hurt his feelings.

Garnier Night

So, be valiant and look your best, even on the tough days.  Use nightly good moisturizers which will prevent your skin from looking sallow and dull, which is the first giveaway that things are not right.  We recommend Garnier’s Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream Eye Cream (above) and Night Cream (below) to be used daily starting at least 6 weeks before the wedding.

Additionally, keep handy a good eye liner and blush like Stila’s Stay all Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner and coral Custom Color Blush. The former can help make tired, puffy or even cried out eyes look bigger, while the latter will prevent you from looking pale, regardless of what is going on behind the scenes.

Suggestion #4:  Be grateful

The Act of Gratitude helps you be more positive and happy as you will be in a state of appreciation.  Start a Bridal Gratitude Journal where every night before you go to sleep, write down 5 things that you are grateful for during your wedding prep.

Suggestion #5:  Do things for others

Yes, we all know that this is your special day. However, if you make it special for those around you, you will actually feel less pressure. Ironically, by making your wedding day less about you, you might actually enjoy it more!

With this in mind, stay tuned for next week, when we will feature Part IV: How to Thank the People That Made Your Wedding So Special
