If I had all the money in the world, I would buy every single piece Carolina Herrera shows, every single season. Sadly, I don’t have that kind of money for these very beautiful, lady-like looks, which are, as usual, gorgeous.
For spring/summer 2015, cuts are a bit geometric – the first few looks featured cropped shirts with matching pencil skirts, which some might call two piece dresses. Of course, there were also her beautiful gowns. The entire collection seemed to have a forest or nature theme (the runway featured what looked to be papier-mâché evergreens where models weaved in and out between each side) even though it was not green and brown dominant. In fact, there were more roses and reds, in both day pieces and evening wear. Perhaps the most gorgeous piece was a long, berry-coloured evening gown.
It’s always great to see more mature/grown-up looks at New York Fashion Week. Now that I’ve officially hit my mid-30s (just celebrated my 35th, and YES, I’m very open about my age), I’m not really looking for anything too funky. In fact, I find those a bit of a turn-off (and have since I hit the big 3-0). So call me unfashionable, but the truth is, it’s always better to be more lady-like (or if you’re a guy, gentlemanly) than overly funky.
