Celebrating Pets’ Welfare at Paws for the Cause

The third annual Paws for the Cause was held at 99 Sudbury this past Thursday with proceeds this year going to the The Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic’s Cares Foundation, which helps people whose pets need special veterinary care.  The event also featured an exhibit of Instagram sensation, Theron Humphrey’s images featuring his Coonhound, Maddie, as well as a fashion show with the latest styles for dogs of all sizes.  And, unlike other galas, the event was not only for humans, but their dogs as well.

Each year, Paws for the Cause raises funds for a different pet-related organization.  Last year, proceeds went to the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund and a scholarship awarded to a veterinary student at the University of Guelph that excels in canine-related healthcare.  Over $75,000 was raised in 2011.  Final numbers are not in for 2012 just yet, but we will update readers once we know.
