Christian Louboutin Lands in Yorkville

…and apparently in the perfect location!  According to Retail Insider, the shoe line known for its red soles is going to be moving into the former home of Maison de la Presse later this year.  The gorgeous Victorian architecture makes it ideal for the brand – it DOES have that “glam” effect, after all!  Christian Louboutin is going to be just one of many luxury brands opting out of Bloor Street and moving into the cozier spots on Yorkville.  Chanel is another brand which is set to move in within the next couple of years.  I wonder if Bloor is going to become home to more “regular” and aspirational brands, while Yorkville Avenue and Cumberland to higher end?

Christian Louboutin Yorkville

Christian Louboutin is supposedly opening here!

The Louboutin boutique will have over 2,600 square feet of retail space, according to Retail Insider – and another 1,230 for storage downstairs.  Despite being its own unit, it does share an address with one of my favourite area brunch spots, MoRoCo Chocolat.  Since the restaurant also sells shoe-shaped chocolate, I wonder if there’ll be any collaborations (red chocolate!!!)?  That would be great, I think.  Perhaps they’ll cater the opening party!

This will be the line’s first free-standing spot in Canada.  Currently, they are only available at a few select shops including Holt Renfrew and Davids Footwear.
