This week, Independent Fashion Bloggers asked us to write about fall boots.  Though it’s still fairly warm in Toronto – this week’s weather will be in the mid 20s C – projected temperatures over the next couple of weeks will drop down to the mid to high teens.  Though not cool enough for boots just yet, those open toe shoe days are numbered.  It’s definitely time to think fall, meaning that it’s time to go back to that standard cold weather wardrobe.

For the upcoming season, my favourite tall boots, which I have been wearing for the past two seasons, will be making its rounds again.  These Cole Haan boots (seen above in a picture taken last year for a sister blog I no longer update)  have been worn with almost everything in my closet, from LBDs to skinny jeans and peggings (pant-leggings) and more.  They have the right height (a must for a petite gal like me) and as they are wedges, make walking much more comfortable than a heel.

Another pair that will get a run are the tall black boots’ brown, suede counterpart (right), purchased from Brown’s Shoes (house brand) as will the the shorter ones with pom pom laces (also Cole Haan), seen on the left.  I have to admit that I haven’t worn them as often as I could, since they look too “wintery” for fall and the laces can easily get dirty in the winter, but maybe I’ll wear them more towards the end of October/early November, before the yucky, slushy weather shows up.  Do you think these pom-pom boots would look better with pants or with a skirt or dress?

I have other boots that will be added to my fall/winter wardrobe including a pair of Stuart Weitzman booties, which I pre-ordered in the spring (and not available for pick-up yet) and other pieces purchased several years ago may be recycled for wear.   Other pairs definitely need to go, but that’s for a very different post.  Maybe another day…
