Webitor’s Picks: Gorgeous Burgundies that Can Be Worn NOW!

Bordeaux, burgundy or whatever you want to call it, deep reds are IT for the fall.  They’re everywhere, from bags to clothes to shoes and cosmetics.  I wore burgundy (and grey) every day for six years when I was at the Bishop Strachan School (BSS), and though I don’t wear them together anymore, burgundy still (and will always) have a soft spot for me.  I perked up when I saw the shade when it hit runways and, more recently, store shelves.  While many pieces aren’t weather-friendly to wear right now (it’s just been much too hot!), why not go with bags, shoes or lip and nail colours that can take you to fall?

One of my favourites is the Tory Burch East/West tote (the bag is also available in “luggage,” a pretty burnt yellow/gold colour that is ALSO an “it” shade for fall).  It’s big enough (at 11 1/2″ H  x 15 1/2″ W x 5″ D) to carry my essentials (lipstick, wallet, phone, keys) and then some, perhaps a tablet or even laptop. Lip glosses and lipsticks, especially those that are more lightweight, can be worn right now as well, especially for the evening.

Which ones are your favourites?  Have you purchased anything in bordeaux/wine/plum/burgundy yet?
