When I first laid eyes on this product I thought it was so cute and knew I had to try it out. The packaging of this blush is great, it’s a good weight (didn’t feel light and cheap), there is a mirror enclosed and there is a flip up compartment where the brush is contained. The blush itself has an adorable heart pattern which made it very difficult to resist. The brush however I don’t find to be great for application. I couldn’t pick up the different colours evenly and did not apply to the cheeks well. Perhaps for touch ups on the go it would be adequate but I preferred to use my regular blush brush.
The description from the Physicians Formula Website:
-Ultra-soft and blendable blushing powder features a fresh and vibrant mix of blushing tones infused with a pop of color to create a healthy glow.
-Multi-reflective pearls provide a soft iridescence to highlight contour and add radiance to cheeks.
-Infused with our Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
-The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply.
The colour I tried out was Rose, a nice mix of different pinks. The powder is indeed soft and blendable providing a nice wash of colour to my cheeks. Colour swatches in the pictures show that there are four colours contained in the pan and they all blend nicely and work together. The product has a very slight shimmer to it – an amount I found to be acceptable so as to not look like I was going clubbing. The look was a nice glow with just a touch of highlighting effect.
I’m not convinced about the claim of a “happy boost blend” promoting feelings of happiness however looking at the pretty product itself can conjure feelings of joy for a beauty product lover such as me.
There is a very pleasant smell to the product which was a nice surprise. I wouldn’t necessarily identify it with Violet but it was a sweet smell that wasn’t too overwhelming. Those with fragrance sensitivities may want to beware.
Retailing online for $15.99 CDN . In terms of rating, I would give this product a 4/5. Nice application, beautiful packaging, decent price point but I don’t fall for all of its claims.
