Jason Wu for Target in Toronto: My Loot

As mentioned in the other post, shoppers were only allowed to purchase three items at the Jason Wu for Target pop-up on Thursday.  I took in six pieces to try, including dresses (three), a skirt and two tops and ended up buying one dress and two tops.  Two of the dresses I wanted to buy were, unfortunately not the best for my body type – the fit was much too big, even with the smallest size (the line really needed size 0, which they didn’t carry.  Normally, brands that start at size 2 tend to be smaller-fit. Not in this case).  The pieces that I purchased were in alpha sizes and were easy enough that I could style to make it fit.

Blouse with tie with dots:

It was kind of loose when I wore it, but tucked into dress pants, it isn’t bad.  In fact, it gives me a bit more shape than I normally get when pants or skirts are tucked in!

  • Paired with: Tuxedo pants from Banana Republic, size 00P
  • Shoes: Christian Louboutin Proratas, size 34

Cap Sleeve Pleated Blouse in Belize Blue:

Again, loose-fitting, perhaps too big, but easily saved tucked in and belted.  Both this shirt and the one above cost $20, lower than the original US price ($26.99)!  Good news for my upcoming Petite Fashion Challenge outfit (hint, hint).

  • Skirt: Jacob, size XS
  • Shoes: Christian Louboutin Proratas, size 34

Sleeveless Chiffon Dress in Navy Floral with Gold Belt

I decided to style this with three different belts.  Without the belt, the dress basically looked like a muu muu, just plain yuck.  The original belt (which is more yellow than “gold”) was a bit too big without adding more holes, so I made do by tying it for the picture.

I also tried two other belts, both purchased at H&M last year.  Which one do you think works better?

  • Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (Spring 2012), size 4.5

And what about that dress that didn’t work? It’s the Poplin Dress in Navy:

Another awful one was the pleated canvas skirt in Belize Blue (matched the second blouse), but it was so awful looking that I didn’t even bother to take a picture!

Torontonians, did you go to this event?  What did you think?
