Bright pink ruled Luca Luca‘s runway on Friday. From dresses to belts and even the lipstick, the shade was everywhere, giving the collection a good punch in colour, just in time for warm weather. There were also hints of gems and floral patterns as well, seen on dresses, tops as well as pants (though I’m not too sure about floral pants as regular day wear. They usually look really loungey/sleepwear to me).
The spring-summer collection seems to be, at times, channeling Nanette Lepore, especially in the colours and shapes area. However, despite being heavily influenced by another favourite of mine, I have to say that I liked what I saw. Favourites include the fuchsia and floral dresses as well as the jewel toned dress (also comes as a top) and the floral dress that looked like circles from afar. The collection looks fun, yet at the same time, grown-up. In other words, it’s very was very wearable, something that’s very important for the vast majority of brands showing in New York. It takes someone very talented to show a runway collection that is extremely museum-quality artistic without it looking too overdone, after all.
What do you think about Luca Luca’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection?
