Lundström Collection Brings Classic, Lady-Like Grace

Unlike many other shows at LG Fashion Week this season, Lundström Collection isn’t as much about being “on trend” than sticking with the classics.  With a collection full of greys, blacks, winter whites and purples, it appeals to both younger and more mature demographics, focusing more on luncheons, teas and galas (as well as the office) rather the party goer types seen in several other collections – something much more proper and lady-like.   Furs, slim skirts, leggings and beautiful coats are core here, pieces that can last season after season without looking too out of place.

While there was black in this collection, winter white and tan were seen more prominently here than in many other shows this week.  A good thing, since too much black can get very boring, no matter how good a designer is.  However, from speaking with other attendees, the collection has largely been panned by so-called “fashionistas.”  Sad, since fashion shouldn’t only be about what’s “trendy.”  Classics play a very important role in one’s closet.  After all, one doesn’t want to be a fashion victim.

Most of our favourites in this collection come from the day pieces.  In fact, it was very difficult to pick something, though for us, the leopard print dress paired with the violet coat (especially the coat) is something that may end up in our closets in the fall.
