Mad Men for Banana Republic Party at Yorkdale!

On the eve of the line’s launch, Banana Republic held a party celebrating Janie Bryant’s second Mad Men collection at many stores across North America, including Toronto’s Yorkdale location.  With 1960s-inspired appetizers from Daniel et Daniel and as well as cocktails, the event also featured Toronto stylist, Tammy Palmer, presenting styling tips for spring, featuring both pieces from the Mad Men collection as well as Banana Republic’s regular stock.  There was also a make-up artist on hand to give attendees gorgeous red lips or winged eyes.

The second collection has fewer pieces than last time and very spring-ready.  Floral and solid coloured dresses, cardigans and pumps for women, work-appropriate suits for men as well as country club ready pieces and accessories for both once again dominated.  Size-wise, there’s good news for petite women as some of the dresses are available in petite sizes.  Unfortunately, none of the separates were available in petites at Yorkdale (but are available online, both in Canada and the US).  There were also complaints by many when that Shalom Harlow was not curvy enough for “Joan” dresses when the teaser campaign launched (I think she was meant to be Megan, not Joan based on hair colour alone).

The Mad Men collection is available at most Banana Republic stores and online (both in Canada and on the US site) while they last.  The fifth season of Mad Men premieres on AMC on March 25 at 9 pm Eastern time.
