DelectablyChic!’s T. U. Dawood speaks to entertaining expert Nicole Sassaman who shares tips for brides and bridesmaids.
What suggestions do you have for brides?
Create a wedding that speaks uniquely to you. Take the time to find someone who can create one of kind designs from your invitation to the table settings and so forth. Every detail matters, from your floral arrangements all the way to your champagne flutes! Make sure you use a cleaning agent that will leave your flutes crystal clear.
What three things make a wedding memorable?
The design, the dresses and of course, the couple!
What can a bride do to make her guests feel extra special?
Definitely party favours that hold meaning – they are always a good one that leave a lasting impression.
Any tips for a bride wanting to hold her wedding at a special venue like on a yacht or at the beach?
Ensure you have a backup plan for your wedding dress, whether it be a cleaning kit or another dress! The chances of getting that white dress dirty increases greatly with being on water or near it.
What are this year’s summer wedding trends?
Using lots of colour, layering designs and detailing things out to a higher level. People are becoming far more design savvy and expect more from a wedding nowadays.
Any wedding don’ts?
My number one advice: don’t put out linens that aren’t 100% white! No one wants to eat off of that!
For protecting their white wedding dresses?
Don’t drink red wine! If you do spill red wine on your dress, have a Stain Remover like OxiClean handy – mix a little with water, rub for 1 to 5 minutes and rinse with water and presto!
For keeping linen crisp and clean?
There’s nothing worse than a rumpled and unclean table linen for an outdoor party, especially at your wedding party! I particularly like using spray starch, along with a good detergent and whitener.
Any additional tips for brides?
Carry a special stain remover kit in your purse – it will come in handy, trust me!
