On My Wish List: Kate Spade ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ Book Clutch

Book clutches, or rather, clutch purses that are made to look like covers of books have been seen on celebs a few times over the past few months.  Seen with many celebrities, these bags have feature such titles as Pride and Prejudice, The Importance of Being Earnest (both Kate Spade) and The Catcher in the Rye (Olympia Le-Tan).  They might look a bit novelty and perhaps  not something that one would buy given price points (especially Olympia Le-Tan’s bags, which are into the four figures.  Kate Spade’s bags $325 US), I think they’re cute and are definitely on my wish  list.  Kate Spade currently has seven available on the website (there is an eighth – Great Expectations – but I believe it has been discontinued as it is not online).

One of the clutches I want the most is the one above.  If you’ve read or seen the play/movie(s), you’d probably find it more than a little ironic.  I’m also interested in other titles, but I think more people would be after the Austen titles (Emma and Pride and Prejudice) for obvious reasons.  If I were to have the money to purchase an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch, I’d probably get Catcher in the Rye (though Holden Caulfield would DEFINITELY find it phoney – LOL!) or maybe The Metamorphosis. One book clutch that I think SHOULD have been on the Kate Spade line is Jane Eyre, which I read in high school and like much more than any Austen book.

What do you think of book clutches?  Do you own one?  If so, which title?

Note: This is the first OFFICIAL post as The DelectablyChic! Closet. I have decided to split Shorty Stories and have moved all 2012 style/outfit posts over to this site, making Shorty Stories more of a body image-related page. Style posts from The DelectablyChic! Closet will still feed over to Shorty Stories, but will redirect back here.
