The One of a Kind Show is in full swing and as usual, there are plenty of amazing vendors, ranging from fashion to crafts, art and more. Food is also one of the main attractions at the event and there are so many gift ideas in the form of stocking stuffers or even more formal presents. Of course, many items will also add to your holiday dinners. A favourite, Les Caprices d’Angeline (Booth G47) is back (and I fully intended to purchase their mint honey, but didn’t have the chance. Maybe next time!), this time with some new packaging for gifts. Others included:
Rustichella:
Delicious infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars, including ones with a kick! Four oils were available for tasting, including one with cumin and coriander (great to use in eastern foods) and several more balsamics. Pre-pacakged oils and vinegars are available as are a la carte items. They also have a pamphlet with recipe ideas if you make a purchase. Unfortunately, they currently do not have a website, so you would not be able to replenish online. However, according to the One of a Kind Show guide, they’re going to be back for the spring show, so if you’re out by then, you can always get more in March! Both G20
This all-natural, gluten-free line of dips, spreads, dressings and more has A LOT to choose from – maybe one of the biggest number of choices at the One of a Kind. While you’re there, definitely try the red pepper ketchup (it’s got a TINY kick to it and NO TOMATOES), which they list as a marinade (but can also be used in place of “traditional” ketchup). There jams and preserves are also good, as are their fruit-based salad dressings and gift sets. Booth H52.
Another preserves and spreads booth with delicious fruity flavours – too many to choose an absolute favourite. Best of all, they have BEAUTIFUL gift sets in the form of wooden chests, filled with four full sized items. This is probably one of the best, if not THE BEST in the entire show. Sets are also available in plainer cardboard boxes. Booth G19.
Dvorak Gourmet Nuts and Chocolate:
Candies, almonds and more, so yes, definitely a huge spread. They even have bite sized dark chocolate (70% cocoa confection) called “Better than Sex,” but I’ll let you be the judge of that. There are also savoury flavours such as garlic almonds. Great to serve before that big holiday dinner or as stocking stuffers. Booth G52.
From Alberta, this line of tea does not use artificial flavours nor do they sweeten. Yet, they’re still able to put together a rather large selection of different flavours! There are at least a dozen green teas (they also have herbal, white and black teas) to choose from, including one called Organic Champagne Berry Bliss, which is infused with “superfruits” like açaí and goji. Booth F49.
These are great for anyone with a sweet tooth. And if you can’t decide whether to get the Florentynes, Raspberrytynes, Almondynes, toffees or other goodies, she also has variety boxes. Booth F23.
And don’t forget that the OOAK show is holding its Late Night Shopping event this Thursday, December 5 when they’ll be open until 11 PM. Admission to the show can be purchased online or at the door.
