Petite Fashion Challenge #14 is: Holiday Emergency – Style your travel outfit into a special evening look using whatever you carry in your purse and anything else immediately at hand, hosted by Couture Coco.
If I check in luggage, I either pack a carry-on with two changes of clothing plus emergency underwear and cosmetics, just in case the luggage goes missing. I will always, always have emergency carry-on clothes if I’m going to another continent – especially if I land later in the afternoon or in the evening. Generally, I include something dressy (or dressy-ish) so that I’ll have something to wear. So for this challenge, I’m going to post pictures for two scenarios. The first is as above, using whatever I have in my carry-on:
Skirt: Aime, size XS (old)
T-shirt: Ann Taylor Loft, XXSP (old)
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik d’Orsays, size 5
Bag: 442 McAdam
Scenario Two: No carry-on luggage, meaning that I have to wear whatever I flew in. If I’m flying shorter distances (five hours or less), especially within Canada and the US, I won’t change into yoga pants. Most likely, I will fly in semi-dressy pants that would pass as appropriate clothing for a decent restaurant. This means that all I really need to do is throw on a cardigan and some lipstick and am good to go.
Camisole: Smartset, XS
Cardigan: J.Crew Jackie cardigan, XXS
Pants: Theory, size 00
Shoes: Barclay, size 22.5 (size 4 1/2)
Bag: 442 McAdam
In both cases, the 442 McAdam bag would have been used as a wallet and carried inside a tote or laptop bag that I would have taken on the plane with me.
