Going on a Mediterranean Vacation with Pink Tartan

Inspired by the Catalan region of Spain, the Pink Tartan’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection is filled with bright, casual pieces that give off the vibe of a fun vacation abroad.  There’s something old fashioned – perhaps taking people back to a time when air travel was a luxury – yet modern at the same time.

Though many of the looks, as typical with Pink Tartan, aren’t all that “friendly” (as I typically say) to shorter body types, there are still some pieces that look like they’re easily “alterable,” and thus, able to fit more petite women.  However, one of my favourite pieces, a black and white patterned pleated midi skirt, could look very awkward on a more petite woman.  It would be closer to a maxi length, which, in my opinion, looks very odd for that kind of cut as it resembles a school uniform skirt for a very religious academy.  Long skirts need to be slimmer rather than a-line.  However, there are some pieces which would look fine, including a pair of blue capris, which would be ankle length on us shorter girls.  A striped orange poncho could possibly work, but it all depends on what it is paired with (if at all – it’s tunic length on the model and thus, long enough to be a mini dress for shorter women).

What are your thoughts on Pink Tartan’s Spring/Summer 2016 looks?
