Premium Outlets’ Woodbury Common is one of my favourite outlet malls to visit when I’m in the New York area. With stores like Prada, YSL and Ferragamo as well as factory stores for Banana Republic, J.Crew and Coach, what more could a girl ask for? Soon, we Canucks won’t have to go across the border for our sprees as a Premium Outlets will be expanding into the GTA, opening in Halton Hills (401 at Trafalgar Road) in just one year’s time! The mall will be over 200,000 square feet and will house some 100 stores.

I wonder what stores will be opening at this mall. With so many first-to-market non-outlets opening at Yorkdale later this year, we will likely see names like Tory Burch, J.Crew and perhaps Ann Taylor, Theory and Kate Spade. Of course, Banana Republic and Coach (warning for those who’ve never been: Coach outlet = crazy lines) will likely be there too. I also won’t be surprised if Holts Last Call packs up their current Vaughan Mills location and sets up shop at this location. However, I’m not sure if we’ll see many of the big names found in the US spots just yet. It could be just me, but I find it a little weird to see outlet versions of department stores before the so-called “real thing.” Besides, there are also some business-related issues that they need to work out before moving up. Still, I am excited about this.
What’s your take? Who would you like to see open?
