Pretty, Bright Colours at Nanette Lepore

What I love about Nanette Lepore is her constant use of bright, bold colours, no matter the season.  There was very little black or grey and in general, the collections tend to arguably be predictable, but one can’t help but love the fact her use of colours just brighten up a dark winter day.

There was also a good play, as usual, on classic patterns, such as the gold and berry houndstooth suit (around 0:48 mark on the video above).  However, one has to wonder WHERE that outfit can be worn.  The skirt (shorts? skorts?) are much too short for a professional setting and too formal for anything else that requires a suit.  The jacket would definitely get much more wear as it  could be paired with just about anything for a casual or more dressy setting.  As for colouring, the most stand-out in this collection were the burnt orange and peacock blue combinations (around 1:28).  Another favourite is the dress seen around the 1:05 mark.
