This was an interesting looking product. The claims of this one is “…with one sweep, define, color and highlight like a pro” – from the L’Oreal Website. The unique sponge applicator is designed to pick up the eye shadow and apply it in two steps taking away the need to apply each colour individually with a brush.
While I thought the concept of this product was great, it did not work for me. I applied the eye shadow as the directions indicated with the darkest shade closest to my lashline, however when I applied the colour the highlight colour (lightest colour) ended up in my crease when I would normally add a lighter colour to my brow bone. The amount of pigment was also not to my satisfaction in fact it didn’t even photograph well on my eyes. For reference the colour I used was #819 – Natural For All Eyes.
I could see this product working marginally well for someone with smaller lids so that the colour should be applied where it is supposed to be on the eyes and for someone who is not comfortable using makeup brushes. I don’t really see this product as a time saver since it takes a while to get a hang of applying the eye shadow with the strange applicator and blending is still required.
Retailing for about $12 CDN I would give this product a 1/5. Nice concept, however expensive and does not deliver for all eye shapes.
