A bit of Canada love here some of my latest purchases come from Canadian brands.  The first two are dresses that I got from Homegrown Boutique, a store in Toronto’s Yorkville shopping district that features items from Canadian designers.  The first was actually purchased back in the fall when I attended Homegrown Boutique’s Spring/Summer 2012 preview. The trench dress by Ottawa designer, Rachel Sin had to be significantly altered.  The smallest size was a 2 and it was still big.  The photo below is of the altered dress.  I think I had about an inch slimmed down on each side!  I’m considering hemming it, but am not sure.

Shoes: Christian Louboutin Proratas, size 34

The second dress is by Sarah Stevenson, part of her last collection (i.e. not Spring/Summer 2012).  I’m considering it for a wedding next month, but it might be a little too casual (the wedding is at a hotel, but not one downtown) so I may wear it as a day dress instead.

Shoes: The Odd Slipper Annabel, size 4.5

As you my have noticed, my shoes are definitely NOT Canadian.  When you have small feet, it’s very difficult to find shoes your size, let alone ones from a small country.  I have had some luck with Brown’s house brands, but fashionistas in Canada love Ron White.  And while I’ve had some success with footwear sold at Ron White, his namesake brand have mostly not fit me at all.  Size 5s fit like 6s, maybe even 6 1/2 as it literally slips off my feet when I walk.  Oh well.
