Right in time for TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival for those of you not from the city), Sephora on Bloor Street hosted a “red carpet” (complete with a red carpet outside of the store) photography event featuring makeovers from Smashbox and a mini photo session with celebrity photographer Steven Khan (who has photographed stars like Beyoncé, Fergie and Cindy Crawford as well as some of the models from America’s Next Top Model. At the end of the photo session, we were given a CD of all the images taken. Here’s just one of the many pictures:
In addition to the photos and makeover, those of us who booked ahead of time (at least) were given a $75 gift card to spend on Smashbox products. As someone who prefers to keep make-up light, I purchased two of their latest products, More than Primer Dark Spot Correcting and the Hydrating Undereye Primer, both from their Photo Finish primer line (below). These are products that can be worn alone or under a BB cream, tinted moisturizer, foundation, or just with a moisturizer and sunscreen on days where you don’t feel like wearing much.
Did anyone else go to this particular event or another, similar one? What did you think? Steven was at Yorkdale’s Sephora store earlier this year and I believe Murale or sister store, Shoppers Drug Mart has hosted an event like this before.
