Stuart Weitzman Yorkville’s Official Opening Party

The store may have been open for at least a couple of weeks, but Stuart Weitzman’s Bloor and Avenue Road location held its official opening party Wednesday evening.  Located at the old Ports boutique, the layout of the space is long and narrow, different from the Eaton Centre location, which is more open.  Size-wise, it is probably not much bigger or smaller than Eaton Centre.  Selection is pretty good at the Bloor store, perhaps more items than Eaton Centre (I do not know about Sherway as I have not been there yet), but it’s interesting to note that size variety seems to be broader at Holt Renfrew, where I can often find size 4 1/2 or 5.

The event itself was pretty standard and definitely packed.  Attendees were greeted at door with glasses of water or wine (both sparkling) and hors d’oevures such as mini roast beef sandwiches, salad rolls and mini quiche were served.  There was a DJ at the corner spinning background music while people mingled around the boutique, browsing at the shoes and bags and perhaps trying things on (something I wasn’t able to do due to size availability!) or shop.  Perhaps it’s because this was the third store in the city, but there were no speakers at the event.

Stuart Weitzman will continue to expand in Toronto.  Recently, it was announced that a boutique will open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre soon.
