Summerlicious 2015: Reservations Open Today

Many old favourites are back, including Trevor Kitchen + Bar, La Société, Sassafraz and One.  Lee and Bent are also on the list, Luckee is not.  Also missing is the restaurant at the Drake Hotel.  Perhaps they’re just sitting this one out and will be back for Winterlicious 2016.  Who knows?  Prices remain the same as Winterlicious 2015 (which was when lunch prices were hiked) at $18, $23 and $28 for lunch and $25, $35 and $45 for dinner.  Summerlicious runs from Friday, July 3 until Sunday, July 26.

There are several restaurants I’m eying this season, including MoRoCo Chocolat ($23 for lunch; $35 for dinner).  My husband and I tend to go there for brunch and I’ve only had dinner there twice.  The dinner menu looks delicious.  Actually, the desserts do.  I recently saw a photo of the black velvet cake on MoRoCo’s social media (Facebook, I believe) and have been drooling since.  In fact, I believe I saw someone have that at brunch recently!  The zucchini “spaghetti” sounds good as well.  Other restaurants which are catching my eye include Momofuku Daisho ($28 for lunch and $45 for dinner) is a falafel bun (dinner menu only) and 5th Element ($18 for lunch, $25 for dinner), an Indian restaurant on Queen Street West, has what looks like a delicious vegetarian platter on their dinner menu featuring paneer makhani, mushroom curry and okra masala (the lunch version only has paneer and mushroom).

In addition to the prix fixe menus, there are various events such as A Dinner in Peru at Malaparte on July 8 ($75) and one called “A Culinary Celebration of Canada,” which will be held the first two weekends this July at Casa Loma.  A full list of events and restaurants (including menus) is available on the LiciousTO website.
