Yes, even the women! Our personal favourite had to be his encouragement to send Lady Hyacinth to dangerous places abroad, where she someone manages to escape life-threatening situations … each and every time.

While Monty is truly becoming a master of murder, he remains steadily in love with Sibella Hallward (Kristen Beth Williams) – even while she marries another – and courts successfully his own cousin Phoebe D’Ysquith (Adrienne Eller), both of whom he loves in different ways.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="25241" data-permalink="https://www.delectablychic.com/gentlemans-guide-love-murder/gentlemans-guide/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?fit=540%2C367&ssl=1" data-orig-size="540,367" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"2.2","credit":"","camera":"iPhone 6 Plus","caption":"","created_timestamp":"1465384672","copyright":"","focal_length":"4.15","iso":"32","shutter_speed":"0.00048007681228997","title":"","orientation":"1"}" data-image-title="Gentlemans Guide" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?fit=300%2C204&ssl=1" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?fit=540%2C367&ssl=1" tabindex="0" role="button" class="alignnone wp-image-25241 size-full" src="https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?resize=540%2C367" alt="Gentlemans Guide, A Gentleman's Guide, theatre, Mirvish, Toronto" width="540" height="367" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?w=540&ssl=1 540w, https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?resize=150%2C102&ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?resize=300%2C204&ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/www.delectablychic.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Gentlemans-Guide.jpg?resize=65%2C45&ssl=1 65w" sizes="(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px" data-recalc-dims="1" />
Marketing along King Street West, right by the theatre

The songs are just marvelous with a special highlight being “I Don’t Understand the Poor” performed by Rapson as Lord Adalbert, which truly reminds the audience not to take anything in this farce seriously.

The set is very well made by Alexander Dodge and subtly transforms to all different locales and well, murder spots!

A Gentleman’s Guide… is playing throughout the month at Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto. Tickets are available online or at the box office.

.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">25221</post-id>
