Target is Coming to Canada

Apparently, they are going to take over more than 100 Zellers stores in the country, starting in 2013. Exact locations are yet to be determined.

So Canadians, what do you think of this?  Will you shop there?  Do you already go to Target when you cross-border shop?  I’m not too sure what to think about this.  On one hand, we are losing store names that have historically been “ours” (even if they’re owned by foreigners), but on the other hand, many Canadians often complain about how some products/stores aren’t available here.  In any case, based on the Tweets I’ve seen so far about this move, they all seem to be very excited.  Hmmmm, I wonder what’s next to cross the border?

Note:  According to the Canadian Press, stores will still operate under the Zellers name “for a period of time”
