The Ex and the end of Summer Time…

As I say each year, the day the Ex (CNE/Canadian National Exhibition) opens is the day summer starts to end.  With just two weeks until Labour Day weekend, and a summer that was less than summer-like (at least in Toronto), where has the time gone?  And because I’m taking classes again, post-Labour Day really will feel like “fall.”

Highlights at this year’s Ex include the old favourites – Tiny Tom Donuts, the Air Show, the midway, and of course, horses and other animals – as well as performances by The Recycled Orchestra (a musical playing instruments made from recycled materials), Dragonette and more.  The Ghost Walk is also returning.  And for those of us who like food trucks, three days – August 23, 24 and 25 – will be dedicated to them.  Scheduled to attend include Food Dudes (a DelectablyChic! favourite), Fidel Gastro and Pretty Sweet (DelectablyChic! spoke with Pretty Sweet earlier this year).

The CNE opens on August 16.
