The Gourmet Food and Wine Expo will be at the Metro Convention Center November 17 to 20, featuring a variety of foods, wines, spirits and beers to sample.
Thursday, VIP night, is $40 per person for admission and will feature celebrity and local chef demonstrations, samplings of wines from around the globe (including a limited supply of reserve and back vintages), amazing food samples, and a preview of all the new wine and culinary accessories. Friday through Sunday entry is $20 per person at the door, or $18 in advance. Sample tickets, which are worth one dollar each and are available in sheets of 20 are used to purchase the various samples available. Depending on the food or beverage, sample prices range from one to six tickets per item.
Connoisseur’s Corner will feature wines of Chile this year, offering a 45 minute demonstration and several Chilean wine samples. The Fine Wine Tasting Lounge offers samples of vintages and private orders. There is also a gourmet marketplace, which offers samples and sales of gourmet foods and food products. An Expo favourite, the Spiritology Pavilion, showcases mixologists demonstrating the hottest new cocktails of the season. There are several other featured showcases, such as The Food Network Stage and the All You Need Is Cheese Stage. Saturday evening’s Gourmet Gala is a lavish, 6 course dinner, featuring 12 award-winning wines from the InterVin International Wine Awards. Tickets are $195 per person and include entry to the Expo upon conclusion of the event.
