While I didn’t get the opportunity to go to Tory Burch‘s preview event for media on May 3 (wouldn’t have had time anyway, considering it was the same night as TFI25), I did get a chance to finally check it out. As I didn’t want to brave the lines on opening day and subsequent weekend, I went on the Monday, when I knew that it would be quieter.
The boutique is located in the same area as Burberry and J.Crew and size-wise, it is fairly decent. In other words, it’s not nearly as big as the Madison Avenue shop in Manhattan, but not small, either. According to the associates there, it carries the complete women’s line. So for those of you who are looking for your Reva fix, this is the place to go. Of course, the boutique also carries Tory’s signature tunic tops, other clothing pieces and of course her bags and jewellery. One of the bags that I have been looking at for months (but continued to be unavailable at Holt Renfrew – I think Holts is only going to carry her most basic items now, mostly her bags with big logos and a few select Robinsons plus most of the shoes) was there and I ended up purchasing it. I didn’t try any of the shoes, but I’m going to assume that all sizes will be available, including the harder-to-find, smaller sizes, generally available at Holts (I have seen Revas as small as size 4 there).
Will this be the only Tory boutique in Toronto? Only time will tell. It does say something that they chose to open a store at Yorkdale rather than Bloor Street (not that there’s room on Bloor, anyway). Maybe Yorkville in a few years?
