Très Chic Styling: Designer Clothes at Affordable Prices

One of my first stops in Montreal was to Très Chic Styling, an appointment-only clothing concept located on St-Laurent which sells designer clothing at reduced prices.  Brands Très Chic Styling carry include BCBG, Hervé Légerr, Elizabeth and James, Tory Burch and more. There are also pieces from local Montreal designers.  When I was there, they were clearing out summer pieces, and I was able to purchase items for as low as $10.

Founded by Maryam Rafa and Angelica Konis, Très Chic Styling’s showroom is located in a loft, away from the main shopping district.  Once you arrive, you buzz into the loft, where you will be allowed in.  The showroom is not very big – just a few racks of clothing, a table for a few shoes and the bathroom acts as the fitting area.  Service is excellent.  Water is offered to clients and we are able to browse.  Depending on when you go, pieces can be as much as 80 or 90% off.  At my mid-August visit, I was able to buy a gorgeous Herve Leger dress for just $300, which I ended up wearing to a TIFF party last week.

Selection at the store is subject to availability.  This means that sizing can be limited.  If you are an extra small or extra large, there may be fewer items for you, depending on the brand.  Because I don’t like super-tight dresses, I was able to easily find an Herve Leger dress by sizing up from XS to S.  There is also a limited selection of shoes, again, brands depend on what’s sent to them.  At my visit, there were several boxes of Revas (Tory Burch) with a good range of sizes (size 6 1/2 and up).  But again, this isn’t a shoe store, so don’t expect to find everything.

Tres Chic Styling is open Tuesdays to Fridays from noon until 6 pm and noon until 5 pm on Saturdays.  They also host private events, such as bachelorette and birthday parties.  Tres Chic Styling is located on 5315 St-Laurent, S106.  Call them at 514-274-3078.  Don’t forget to check out their Twitter and Facebook pages.
