Two Louis Vuitton Boutiques on Bloor? WHAT?

According to a PDF of Toronto’s Yorkville area, it seems that Louis Vuitton is about to set up shop at 150 Bloor Street West, right next to Burberry.  However, its current location on the south side of the street, next to Chanel remains on the form.  Doesn’t this seem strange to you?  Why would there be two locations on the same street?  Or, is the store actually moving to the new space?  The rumours about a “European brand” moving into Bloor Street remain and we still don’t really know what it is yet.

Map of stores in Yorkville.  Notice the two locations for LV, one in blue (current location) and another in brown (future location)

Of course, the map is probably inaccurate.  One of the storefronts is still listed as Max Mara, when it is Michael Kors that is moving in (Max Mara is actually moving a few doors towards west to the old NOIR spot).  Puma is still listed on the map, but it closed just a few weeks ago.  My personal theory is that the store is moving, but do not know who is moving into the current location. For example, both the current MAC location and its new location are seen on the map.  Yet, I’ve been told that MAC is not expanding, but moving next door.

The current LV store on Bloor Street in Toronto

I don’t get this move since LV’s current location is NOT BAD.  In fact, I think the house makes it look unique and different from all the other luxury stores in the neighbourhood.  150 Bloor Street West will just make the store blend in.  Of course, it could very well be a temporary spot and that the house is really just being renovated or it could be that another store wants the location, therefore forcing LV to find a new home.  Right now, however, there’s very little information.  We’ll just have to see what happens over the next few months.
