ÜberSocial Now Working, Glitches Remain

The Blackberry app formerly known as ÜberTwitter was reactivated Sunday evening under its new name, ÜberSocial. However, one issue still remains. Ringtone alerts don’t appear in Blackberry settings, meaning that users do not know whether they have new mentions or direct messages unless they actually look at their devices. There is no vibrate or ringtone alert when one gets a direct message or is mentioned in a Tweet. According to ÜberSocial’s Tweets, a fix will be issued soon. Let’s hope that it will be within the next day.

At the same time, while ÜberSocial still isn’t 100% right now, I am sure many users are extremely happy that their favourite app is back (ÜberSocial actually experienced some server issues because so many people were trying to download.) While some did patiently wait for reactivation, others ventured to try alternatives, including the official Twitter app for their device. From the tweets we have been reading, many still preferred ÜberTwitter/ÜberSocial, citing the lack of customization to issues regarding alerts and more.
