While blacks, browns and tans are the standard tones for shoes, it never hurts to have some colour, especially pinks and oranges. Here are some shoes that you may want to try which go well much of your closet, yet remain neutral enough that it isn’t too glaring – save that for your clothes and accessories.
These simple Kate Spade slingbacks go well with any summer outfit. Pair them up with a sundress for a casual outdoor wedding or with jeans. Even wear it to work. The peach/strawberry tones on the shoes aren’t glaring to the point that it looks unprofessional for more casual offices. Of course, if you want to be safe, these shoes are also available in black and navy.
Rockport has long been seen as the ugly stepsister of women’s shoes. However, this season, it seems that there’s been a sudden change. It seems that there are more attractive-looking shoes, including this Audry Quarter Strap woven shoe. Like the Kate Spade slingbacks, they’re great for work or for fun! These shoes are also available in a mossy green as well as in two brown tones – “biscotti” and a darker brown.
Many of you may know that Stuart Weitzman is one of my favourite shoe brands and this season is no exception. It isn’t only because he makes shoes in smaller sizes (5, sometimes 4 1/2) that fit me, but also because they can make a woman look and feel glamorous, like these 4 1/2″ multi-coloured wedges. I don’t normally recommend shoes this high, but as wedges, they’re going to be more comfortable than pumps or platforms of the same heel height.
