Webitor’s Picks: Summer Dresses for Daytime and Less Formal Wear

It was really difficult to decide on one Webitor’s Pick this week, since summer dresses are a favourite of mine. In this part of the world, the upcoming long weekend (Victoria Day here in Canada and Memorial Day in the US the following week) signals the “unofficial start” of the summer, meaning that we’re heading towards a season of smart casual type events where these dresses may get good use. Or, you could be a dress-wearer like me. I find that dresses, especially the ones below, are more comfortable than pants. Some of these are actually dresses I’d wear shopping!

Two favourites are the Justene dress by Milly and the BCBG print shift dress (it’s on sale!). Both are pretty (especially the Justene dress – it gives off a bit of a vintage vibe, we think), versatile and great to wear to any event where jeans are inappropriate. Wear it to a rehearsal dinner or perhaps to brunch. The Milly belted shift is a great look that can transition from work to an evening out. Pair them with wedges, simple jewellery and, of course, don’t forget the wrap or cardigan, in case it gets cold.
