Conrad Dubai

Room at the Conrad Dubai

For a truly luxurious honeymoon, we have fallen in love with Conrad Dubai.  A brand new spot that specializes in luxury experiences, this urban hotel has everything from the scrumptious cuisine to a Purobeach Urban Oasis pool area which is perfect for relaxing in the day and partying at night.  We have to also give mention to the impeccable service as the staff went out of their way to pay attention to every single detail.

Conrad Dubai is situated right in the heart of the city and is on the metro line so it’s easy to go on a Desert Safari, parasailing on Jumeireh Beach or shopping at the malls.  However, the hotel is a centre of luxury and decadence, so we recommend honeymooners just enjoy oysters and passion fruit, while relaxing in a little private area near the pool.  Or, perhaps indulge in the fine dining in the romantic Cave restaurant where you can enjoy a special taster menu paired with some of the UAE’s finest wines.  The spa features “couples” aromatherapy package ideally for honeymooners, as well.

New York Marriott East Side

If closer to home is more your style, the Marriott East Side in NYC is truly an urban traveler’s dream. It has a great location with incredible hospitality.   The Executive Lounge is ideal for munching or meetings and also relaxing over breakfast and planning your day.

The rooms are surprising large for East Side Manhattan.  Just 4 blocks from the United Nations, Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station – and just a mile from Times Square – this Midtown New York hotel is right in the heart of everywhere you would want to be.   You can see a play one night, a concert another, fine dining a third, and the options are unlimited in the Big Apple.

It is also adjacent to Bliss Spa and opposite Godiva Chocolates, for plenty of pampering options.

Three Honeymoon Must-Haves for 2014

L’Occitane en Provence Neroli Orichdee candle

1. Don’t forget the massage oil. Who wants to go shopping while on a honeymoon?  The Body Shop has a fabulous Sensual Massage Oil with vanilla and ylang ylang as well as and All Over Body Massager.  Let the Honeymoon begin …  If you really want to build ambiance, bring a scented candle like L’Occitane en Provence’s Neroli Orichdee scented candle.  Set a rose petal bath and light the candle.

2. Bring a deep conditioner.  If you end up swimming a lot and have a lot of tangles, even the best hotel conditioners don’t transform your hair.  Schwarzkopf Professional’s BC Hair Therapy Repair Rescue Deep Nourishing Treatment is small enough to easily fit in your luggage, and can completely transform your hair from unkempt chaos to movie star soft.  Similarly, also keep a Dry Shampoo like Finesse Keratin Protein Dry Shampoo handy for emergency fix-ups.

3.  One of our favourite products of 2014 is OPI’s Wipe-Off! acetone-free lacquer remover wipes.  They are easy to fit even in carry-on luggage and one wipe can remove the polish of all nails hands and feet, in just a matter of seconds.  This will easily enable you to change your nail polish shades as well as remove any fading colours.
