Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna, Austria

Kempinski - Spa Time with Nina

Spa time with Nina at Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna

Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna was originally built as a hotel for the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 but was never used as a hotel until recently, when it was bought recently by Kempinksi and opened this past March.  Not only is a truly luxurious hotel, the service and location are top notch as well.  It is convenient enough to suit business travelers, but is truly ideal for honeymooners with its lavish suites, pampering spas and sumptuous dining offerings.  Located in the heart of Vienna, right at the famous Ring Boulevard, it is a stone’s throw from subway and bus lines as well as reasonably close to the airport.

The luxury suites are a wonderful size and have a convenient separate shower and bathtub as well as useful desk and ideal entertaining area.  The bathroom provides luxurious Paraben-free bath products.

An enchanting mix of old and new, historic building and modern wi-fi and cutting-edge technology, Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna has truly created a memorable stay for its guests.  With personalized notes, surprise gifts and comfortable ambiance, this just might be one hotel that’s as much to stay inside all day than even to go out exploring or sight-seeing.

For honeymooners, the entire suite is covered with rose petals including the luxurious bathtub.  There is a wonderful sitting area both indoors and on the private balcony.

Conrad New York, USA

Conrad NY Honeymoon Picnic Basket

Honeymoon picnic basket from Conrad New York

When one thinks of a honeymoon in New York City, thoughts of 5th Avenue, Broadway plays, Times Square and Central Park come instantly to mind.  However, the new Conrad New York is such a fabulous experience, it could tempt you to stay indoors.  Not only is the service unparalleled, the cuisine is out of this world (I mean the kind you can dream about afterwards) and the best of all facilities are right at your fingertips.  If you want to add romance to your room with a special bouquet, they have the Bloom florist; if you want to enjoy a honeymoon picnic, they prepare a special picnic for two;  if you want to enjoy a sunset toast on their rooftop with a view, it’s an elevator ride up; and finally, you can enjoy the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in cute designs like a groom’s tuxedo!

The luxury suites are enormous with two sinks, separate toilets and showers as well as a omfortable bath and separate den area for entertaining guests.  Canadian Jill Greaves designed the guestrooms and she’s done a fabulous job.

As an added bonus, the Conrad New York is very conveniently located in the Wall Street district, near the new Freedom Tower, and close to Newark airport where Porter Airlines flies to and from.

Five Honeymoon Must-Haves for 2013

Thank you notes

C.R. Gibson thank you note cards

  1. Bic Soleil Shave & Trim Razor as an emergency.  Great for travel as it is both a shaver and a bikini trimmer.
  2. L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream BB Cream with SPF 30 to protect against sun as well as aging.
  3. A large sunhat – don’t dismiss the dangers of UV rays.
  4. C. R. Gibson’s Thank You Notecards with Gold Accent.  Too many brides these days are forgetting to write their thank you notes or sending generic ones or email ones.  Make it a point to do this one task the traditional way with stunning notes, personalized thanks and in a timely way. Perfect for when tanning on the beach.
  5. Avojuice Skin Quenchers hand & body lotion.  They come in mini sizes as well and we particularly the love violet orchid scent.
