Wedding Series, Part I: Wedding Prep

DelectablyChic! is excited to present its 4th Annual Summer Bridal feature, our four part series on Wedding Prep, Gifts, The Wedding Day, as well as Best Urban Honeymoon Hotels.

We begin with Wedding Prep.

Inviting Your Wedding Party:

C R Gibson Be My Bridesmaid Boxes

We came across a very cool way to invite your Bridesmaids. C R Gibson’s “Be My Bridesmaid Boxes: ‘Will You’” are not only charming but are true keepsakes.  The cardboard floral boxes come filled with flower petals but the recipients can use them in the future however they like.

For Your Health:

At least one month before the wedding day and ideally three months, you should begin a health routine including drinking plenty of fluids, exercising regularly and going for facials.

Skinny Bitch In Love

Eating healthy is a must and if you want some fun inspiration, read Skinny Bitch In Love by Kim Barnouin where our favourite vegan heroine falls for a carnivore, while teaching her friends and students how to eat “crap-free” ie healthy.

For the Feet:

Don’t dismiss the importance of taking care of your feet as well and we highly recommend a five star pedicure like the “Spa Pedicure” with Paraffin treatment at Windsor Arms Hotel.  This 75 minute foot pampering really leaves your feet soft and relaxed.  The polish should last about a month and they have a great selection of OPI as well as Deborah Lippmann vegan polishes.

MicroPedi by Emjoi

If you would prefer an at home alternative, check out the Emjoi MiroPedi which removes dead skin and calluses by using unique micro-mineral rollers that leave your heels and soles looking and feeling uber smooth.

For Your Skin:

BRAZIL NUT BODY SCRUB

Exfoliate with The Body Shop’s Brazil Nut Cream Body Scrub.  Thick, intense, effective.

For a tanned booster to your skin, try Victoria Secret’s Bronze instant bronzing tinted shimmer lotion.  When applied daily, it boosts the look of your tan.

For Your Hands:

Moroccanoil has come up with a hand cream that is a reparative concentrate.  If you begin using it regularly a month before your big day, you should see great improvement and softness to your hands.  However, like most Moroccanoil products, even if you use it for the first time the morning of your wedding, it should still work some magic.

For Your Hair:

Finesse has a new line of Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner with Keratin Protein.  Keratin provides added conditioning and shine while strengthening the hair and preventing split ends.  Finesse also has a Silver Body line for greying hair which is ideal of older brides.  Try using one of these lines at least a month before the wedding day to see maximum results.

For a stronger pre-wedding treatment, check out Orgnx Coconut & Macademia Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Intensive Repair Treatment.

Oil-licious

Or, if you want the true triple threat, check out Schwarzkopf’s got2b Oil-licious golden shimmer conditioner featuring argan, white grape & marula oils. If this doesn’t transform your hair into the softest, shiniest, healthiest hair on the planet, probably nothing will.

When blow-drying, use a Magnesium Volumizing Brush like Raincry Professional’s or a round ionic ceramic thermal brush from Moroccanoil.  These are great for curls or waves and protect your hair from overdrying.  The latter comes with a hidden hair parter.

If you are worried about hair thinning, hair fall or hair breakage, try Viviscal Hair Nourishment System of tablets made from AminoMar C Marine Complex which provides amino acids to strengthen your hair.
