This year, Cashmere Bathroom Tissue celebrated a milestone. The tenth annual White Cashmere Collection was presented at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) on September 25, an event in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. More than 20 Canadian designers, including Project Runway Canada alumni such as Lucian Matis, Carlie Wong and Sunny Fong participated as well as other Canadian designers, creating unique gowns made out of the product. The event was hosted by CTV personality, Bev Thompson, a breast cancer survivor, and curated by Farley Chatto.
As usual, the show began with looks that were presented in previous years. Unlike last year, however, some of the looks were also presented on the runway, rather than just an installation, including one of last year’s final pieces, a flower girl dress. Then came this year’s pieces. The gowns were presented in groups of four, with many sporting some sort of theme. The final set of looks, being “show girl” was a favourite of many.

After the event, attendees were invited to stay behind for some nibblies and cocktails. With pictures of the gowns available online, the public is encouraged to vote for their favourite on Cashmere’s Facebook page. Each vote will be entered into a draw where one can win a shopping spree worth $10,000. Cashmere will also donate $1 per vote to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in the winning designer’s name. Voting ends on November 1, 2013.
