Canada Goose held an event at the Spoke Club on Tuesday featuring a selection of their coats for Winter 2011/2012. A typical cocktail event, it featured not only a display of the collection, but also drinks, appetizers and of course, mingling and networking. When one normally thinks of Canada Goose, they think parkas. They think outdoorsy and winter camping. Very Canadian and very arctic. While I did see a lot of that at the event, there were several pieces that were more city-esque and fashionable, something that can be worn to work or even a casual evening out. Many are surprisingly light-weight, yet still have the ability to keep the wearer warm. Some favourites include:
Youth Kensington – Also available in adult sizes
The short black coat is a new addition to the Canada Goose collection. Called the Hybridge Lite, it is great for those who’re active – winter jogging, anyone?
The Palliser and Thompson from the Travel Collection
A CG55 Montebello, modelled by Miriam – it’s got straps so that one can “wear” the coat off while indoors, without having to carry it
Most of these pieces are neutrally coloured, and all are available in black and white – great as one can pair them with gloves, scarves or hats (when you don’t want to wear it with the hood – many of which are trimmed with coyote fur) of any shade! Prices range anywhere between $250 to over $1,000, depending on style and are available in sizes for men, women and kids of all ages.
