Reservations for this year’s Winterlicious started on January 13. In total, 150 restaurants are participating this time around, including many returning eateries such as the Rosedale Diner, The Drake Hotel and Lai Toh Heen. Once again, the prix fixe menus are between $15 and $25 for lunch and $25 and $45 for dinner. For more information on restaurants and their prices, visit the Winterlicious website.
During the Winterlicious period, many restaurants will be offering other culinary events, including:
- an Italian food seminar at Bonnie Stern School of Cooking (6 Erkskine Avenue). This event, called Eat Pray Lovealicious will not only include a cooking demonstration and eating (but of course!), but also food philosophy. This is a very popular seminar and three of the dates have been sold out as of this posting. Only January 30 (11:30 am to 1 pm) and February 2 (6:30 to 9 pm) are still open. This event costs $99 per person.
- Another event that sounds exciting is called A Passion for Dance. Enjoy delicious Spanish delights made from olive oil, veggies and a variety of different meats while celebrating one of Bizet’s most celebrated operas. This is held at Embrujo Flamenco Tapas Restaurant (97 Danforth) on January 30, 31 and February 1 from 7:30 to 9:30. $69/person.
- The Rising Chef Citrus Cook-off will be held once again. This year’s event will be at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen (85 Hanna Avenue) where up-and-coming chefs will compete with each other to make the best 3-course meal. Audience members will get to enjoy a delicious citrus meal. $50/person
